'Quiet conservative' is definitely a problem for people taking polls. The left wing have spent years now shouting down all opposition as racism that most people don't want to talk about topics like immigration because there's some loud mouth that will try to publically shame them and name call, instead of actually discussing anything. Worse, with Twitter and social media, there's now a tendency towards leftists trying to mob justice humiliate people for saying fairly innocuous things and spread it all around.

Leftists think because they don't hear a lot of debate about immigration, beyond the few people they occasionally have to scream racist at, they've won the debate. All they've done is gag debate, the public vote differently when in a private polling booth. Further, the obnoxiousness of the left, SJW, virtue signalling, is actually causing a kick back by the public.

The reason the Brexit vote went to 'leave' was as much to do with the remainers screaming racism at everyone as it was to do with any coherent argument by the Leave camp.
>>
>>127433053

Hillary certainly sucked, no questions about that. But common sense still should have let people realize she was the better of the two options. Voting for Trump because you didn't like Hillary enough is like driving your car off of a cliff to avoid having some birds up ahead shitting on your car.

Most pollsters were oversampling Democrats and groups that vote for Democrats in spite of data on the demographics for various regions being readily available.

They essentially bet that Democrats that there was more enthusiasm for Democrats to vote than for Independents and Republicans.

You could just look at the difference between how Trump supporters and Hillary supporters behaved at rallies to realize how much more enthusiastic Trump supporters were.

So in a way, the media may have helped Trump by not showing the crowds at his rallies. It gave many in the media the false impression that hardly anyone was excited about Trump.

If Hillary and her people bothered looking into Trump's supporters they may have realized just how excited they were. Yet instead they likely paid attention to what the media was saying was happening. So they had little reason to think that there was something wrong with what pollsters thought was going to be the voter turnout.

Hell there were polls suggesting over half of all voters were going to be Democrats when Democrats make up closer to a third of voters, maybe as high as 40%. That's absolutely insane, as it meant they thought Republicans and Independents each made up about a quarter of the country. Watching what independents wanted should've been the most important group to watch as they're the only ones that swing from voting for one party or the other, yet because pollsters engaged in oversampling it made it likely seem irrelevant what independents wanted.

because they arent smart.

they ran a ProWar Anti-Environmental Neoliberal Establishment Shill at a time when most of the country is Anti Establishment, against the wars that have been going on for 15+years, against the trade deals of the 90s, while she was already involved in an FBI investigation for Pay to Play behavior with her foundation and a shady Email Server. They cheated bernie, are now fully admitting it, screwed left leaning independent and most of the democratic base that turned out for Obama. never had a message and expected to win against a populist with a republican party that has made cheating their specialty (cross check, voter id's, shutting down voting stations, gerrymandering). And all they can do now is ignore reality and blame russia. they continue to blame jill stein/bernie voters for having principles while ignoring that 10% of democrats voted for trump.

everyone i know either voted Trump or Jill Stein in northern new jersey. if jill stein wasnt on the ballot, i would have voted for trump.

the country needs to wake up to the corporatist bullshit that has corrupted both parties. trump is the best figurehead for the job.

1.6 isn't 0, true, but when you consistently give a candidate 1 to 5% chance to succeed in a given situation (GOP candidacy, numerous states) and ar constantly proven wrong it is a sign that you're wrong and should rethink the model.

The 1.6% occurring once is 1.6/100 chance, it occurring five times is 0.016^5 * 100%. At that point it is statistically impossible, and for your models to be wrong to that extent is unforgivable.

Which had absolutely no effect on the outcome as that isn't how the US determines the outcome of the US Presidential Election.

The Donald fought and won based upon the electoral requirements for fighting and winning.

If it had been based upon a majority of the electorate voting for him rather than the electoral college then The Donald would have focussed his efforts there and would have won the popular vote instead.

Just because you had a shitty candidate who can't accept the result more than 6 months after the election doesn't make a blind bit of difference.

Hubris. The haughty attitude of the left is always their downfall. Look at the little snobby, arrogant cry babies in this thread getting butt blasted over "rural and suburban retards" and "MUH Hillary" and clean energy. They're delusional. They were told by the media and the celebrities that they idolize that Hillary had it in the bag. That arrogance lost them the election. A lot of the people complaining probably didn't even go out to vote. It's not just the arrogance of her voters and the media/establishment that propped her up, but her own doing as well. Trump campaigned much harder than Hillary. He travelled from state to state every single day and made sure he visited the rust belt and the "rural and suburban retards". He covered a vast portion of the United States. Hillary? They didn't even bother. Instead of reaching out to crucial counties, she went to cities like Philadelphia and New York, pretty much guaranteed wins. Her campaign was garbage from day 1.

Now I'm not the biggest Trump fan, nor am I a conservative republican by any stretch of the imagination, but he was far and away the better option. His views on border control and relations with other countries alone made him the superior candidate. He may be a puppet to some higher ups, but Hillary and the Clinton's were bought and paid for a loooooong time ago. The country dodged a bullet and got a little borrowed time with her losing and I'm happy because of it. Trump probably won't be able to change any thing for the better, the country is too far gone, but had Hillary won, we'd have gone the way of Europe and been at war with Russia by now.

There's also the simple fact that a majority of people are fans of the underdog. Trump was the underdog in this story. Everyone said he was a joke, that he couldn't make the republican nomination, that he had a single digit chance of beating Hillary, etc. etc. Everyone shilled against him and his supporters. When he won, the tears were delicious.

Implying what? The popular vote in the US is a meaningless statistic. It is completely destroyed as a useful measurement by the Winner-Takes-All system driving people to not bother to vote in certain states; why bother voting Republican in Cali, Hawai, DC or Washington? Why bother voting Democrat in Texas, Kentucky or Alabama? It's impossible to say which party's supporters abstained more, so it's impossible to say which side would win a popular vote contest.

>Believes in Trump's 4d chess

It's not about 4D chess you fucking numpty, it's the simple and obvious fact that the strategy for winning a vote based upon a state-based electoral college and the strategy for winning a vote based upon a national popular vote are completely different.

With an electoral college you focus on marginal states (which is what Trump did) rather than states where you are already popular (which is what Hillary did).

Hillary was playing a strategy which was far closer to a popular vote strategy than an electoral college one (i.e. spending an excessive amount of time in states she was almost guaranteed to win)

She did this because she thought she didn't need to expend the effort, because the election was in the bag and going places where you are unpopular and trying to convert people to your cause is hard work.

I'm genuinely glad the polls were so consistently wrong over the entire electoral period, because it meant that Hillary played it all wrong and lost because of it.

Her SJW supporters also put off more middle of the road voters because they were so egregiously awful.

Thought he was rich and so could not be bought. At least that was how he was sold on /pol/ before the election.

John Quincy Adams.
Lincoln.
Woodrow Wilson x 2.
JFK.
Clinton x 2.

None of them had 50% of the popular vote you complete and utter fucking mong. Lincoln didn't even clear 40%. That's why we have the goddamned electoral college.

Why do you constantly write one sentence at a time. You can do a paragraph now and then.

Of course we can all vote. What does this have to do with elections? It's a placebo.

Voting is like pissing in a wet-suit. It gives a nice, warm feeling, butt nobody notices and nothing changes.

Neither did Clinton or Trump.

>Lincoln didn't even clear 40%.
That's cause there were 4 parties running for POTUS. The smallest of which, the Constitutional Union, got 12% of the vote.

>That's why we have the goddamned electoral college.
Run off elections are a thing too.

Initially, yes, he funded his own campaign. He was an anti-establishment candidate.

Once he got in there though . . .

Because the "educated" meme is just that, a meme. Fake degrees are basically all american universities produce nowadays.

>Just means that more American's voted for someone other than the current POTUS. No need to be angry.

If the burgers were unhappy with the use of the electoral college instead of a popular vote then they are free to change it through a constitutional amendment.

The reason this hasn't happened is that it would never be ratified, since the smaller states would be handing effective control to the larger states.

Don't bitch to me about it, bitch to your representative in Congress.

Obviously because I am a monstrous faggot.

Democratic models were based on the fact that there are more:

Liberal White americans
Women
Independents
Minorities

Than there are conservatives. The problem? Half of those women went Red, they didn't give the independents a reason to vote for their candidate and the minorities are prevented from voting due to harsh voter ID laws designed to keep them from voting because dems refuse to invest in local elections.
