A lot of people were caught up in communist-related organizations back then because the anti-Vietnam war and equality movements were seeded with commie agitators hoping to start the revolution. I was getting my tires changed the other day and talking to the mechanic, who I've been going to for a decade, and he told me that back in the day he was a part of SDS and was shocked I actually knew what they were. He got out when he found Jesus and the SDS started to try to become violent, but it was just easy for young and idealistic people back then to get caught up in what, to them, is a very appealing sales pitch.

I mean, if you ask a young person back then if they are interested in an end to wars and equality and all that other shit, of course they would say "where do I sign." This is the poison pill, the lie of communism which still exits to this day.
