You're asking if I'm intimidated by own "people"? It depends. My fellow Japs intimidate me sometimes, just because I'm so westernized I'm afraid they'll find me uncultured. Chinks and Koreans I'm not afraid of, cause Glorious Nippon Steel in the 1930s. The SEAs, maybe. It really depends. My favorites though are Cambodians and Thais, super nice people. My SEA gf scares the shit outta me when she's horny, but she's super nice so I really can't complain at all.
