I'm not a big anime fan either, I feel like the way they blend genres in animes doesn't sit well with me, maybe it's a cultural thing, but for example I watched Hellsing some years back, and I thought it was pretty cool in some parts, but then they'd have the cute comic relief shit sprinkled in and it just pissed me off. I'd prefer it to be 100% serious/action, but whenever I've mentioned this, most people actually respond in a fairly hostile way telling me that the comic relief is actually the whole point and the best part, so I dunno, guess it's just not my thing.
