I begin our time together today by acknowledging the indigenous people of the Medicine Creek Treaty, whose land was stolen and on which the college stands. I would like to acknowledge the Squaxin people who are the traditional custodians of this land and pay respect to elders past and present of the Squaxin Island Tribe. Their additional requests include but are not limited to important items such as: funding and resources for the recruitment and retaining of Native students; paid positions to support the Native Student Alliance; a pre-orientation retreat for new and continuing Native students; funding for a Native American graduation; exemption from the catering and cooking prohibitions so that Native students may cook and eat Native foods in freedom.
These will be the focus of much work and commitment in the weeks ahead.

Annual training for police officers will be expanded because of the responsibility they hold and the critical services they provide to the college. Private funding will be sought to support training.
We intend to retain a campus police force that understands and is responsive to the unique needs of our college campus.

That has more to do with their education system. I lived in China for 2 years working on a global realignment of sales processes for a rather large company and also as liaison to expat employees and the (((US Chamber of Commerce))).

Their children spend 10 hours a day memorizing what their instructor says out of a book. There is no critical thinking or reading in their education system whatsoever. WHAT SO EVER. I can't express this enough. The amount of critical thinking taught is 0.0000001 maybe and this is why one generation in China can't innovate past the previous without corporate espionage.

If you see a Chinese person doing something and stop them, then ask if they would like to take a moment to think about how what they are doing can be done better they will give you a blank stare and never speak again.

Colleges were at their best when they were run by Professors. Despite all the liberal BS, there was a grade, you either passed or failed. 30 to 40 percent of students quit because it was too hard or they failed out.

Now Colleges are run like a business, and the current money is on diversity and completion.
