Was Yang Wenli wrong to throw his life away for demcracy? Is human society doomes to an endless ebb and flow of freedom and authoritarian control? Shitposting aside is there really any form of government more conducive to a free and prosperous society than the liberal democratic republics of the modern age?

I still thought Yang was cooler than Reinhard
It was fucking creepy how much they worshiped Reinhard with such blind faith over his imperial urges getting so many deaths on both sides over his fantasies of his globalist attempts at whipping humanity into submission with his views.

LoGH is superb. It truly shows how there aren't any "best" systems, only "least worst" ones. You can have bad democracies and you can have good autocracies. Yang Wenli wasn't wrong in throwing his life for democracy, because no matter who the ruler is in a democracy, the system can be accepted. Meanwhile in dictatorships, if the dictator is extremely incompetent, the system will quickly fall apart.
I keep trying to watch this series and I keep falling asleep
Oberstein is best girl
I stopped watching after season 2 ended, is the rest of it worth the watch?

Yang is a tragic character because if he had only taken the power offered to him by the alliance, he could have become a far more superior autocratic leader than Reinhardt. Even if he eventually gave up power, he could write the course of history for the better. Alas his idealism indirectly caused his own death and the conquest of his nation.
