If you are against oppression of native population by working immigration you should fight for the revolution to overthrow dictatorship of bourgoise in your country and the country sending immigrants, just like you should fight imperialistic wars and governments sponsoring terrorism indirectly or directly.

I suppose it was due to the way industrialisation was made - when engineers from industrial parts of Russia and big cities of Ukraine come to republics and organize factories with russian/ukranian/belorussian majority. Soviet party was majorly formed out of workers, who were russian/ukranian/belorussian even in such parts of SU as baltics.
