There are a few types of "natives". One, the minority of them unfortunately, is very quiet. They won't look you in the eye and will look away if you say hello to them in passing. Not because they're rude but because they're incredibly shy. It's a cultural thing, there's one tribe that will never look each other in the eye because it's seen as intimidating so they pick an object to stare at while they talk.

There is another type that is normal. They're typically less intelligent and live more low class, but they actually try to get by on their own. These, too, unfortunately are the minority of them. What I find funny is they always have typical white names, like they changed their names or something. Shane Smith or Jonathan Dawson, stuff like that, then you see them in person and they're full blown injun.

Now here are the types I normally deal with. Transient, not always homeless but sometimes they couch hop staying with various friends on various reservations. They'll sit at the bus stop or light rail station and just drink. That's their hobby, sitting at a bus stop and drinking. When other "natives" come by they hang out with them. They'll see another and be like "hey, you're native, I'm native, let's hang out and drink at the bus stop!" They're instantly friends with someone if they're also native, but then they get drunk together and fight. We always get calls because drunk natives are fighting at the fucking bus stop. Natives cannot handle alcohol, and a nurse is the one who told me this but I've observed it as well. Alcohol has a different reaction in natives, they lose their minds when they drink and can't even speak properly and get incredibly pissed off. They're also into hard drugs like meth and heroin.

I don't have any native friends and wasn't raised by my father at all, he was entirely absent in my life. So I don't know much about the culture. I know more about German culture. But I do live in the southwest now (used to live northeast, dad is from SD originally) and I see a lot of degenerate, sad, pathetic souls wandering around that remind me of my father (met him once in my 20s - big mistake) It's very heartbreaking actually, to see what's become of this dying race.

Thank you so much. I grew up with so much adversity around me, it made me tough, and made me the opposite of what my parents are. I dropped out of high school at 16 (although I had excellent grades and college credits) to work and pay bills for my mom as a waitress. Saved my money up, bought a computer and taught myself the trade I work in now at an executive level. Worked literally from the bottom to the top. No matter how hard it got, I never went on public assistance, never never.
