Pittsburgh is a representation of America. It's a blue collar city of immigrants who actually did physical labor and managed to create an absurd amount of wealth out of nothing but hard work. In the 1870's Pittsburgh alone produced more than half of the country's steel, that's one city creating more than half of the most important resource for one of the biggest countries in the world. It's different now because it's been somewhat overrun with academics and healthcare, but the bulk of the city and its heritage is so powerful even new immigrants take to it immediately. Pittsburgh is all that's left of the real America.

Also the unity in Pittsburgh is unique, no other city uses the same colors for all of their sports teams. Imagine if the US wore different colors in the Olympics... I have no idea why Pittsburgh is the only city with an actual identity.
