Maturity comes with understanding that hate is just a more extreme version of disgust. Now disgust is an emotion given to us that protects us. It keeps us from eating things that are poisonous or unwashed or copulating with partners that quite obviously have STDs, it's a good emotion when things like bacteria and parasites and viruses exist.

However, when mere disgust isn't enough, you need hate. Disgust is a "Hey let's get away" reflex. It doesn't work when you're confronted with communists, Islamist's, insurgents, or bleeding hearts and artists. Hate is needed to encourage you to destroy these things actively to remove their corrupting influence.

If you can back-burner that shit until opportunity presents itself, then take care of things, that's fine. But so many ways this can go wrong.

1) You do that, "payback's a bitch" thing and then promptly move on to be trampled by the next person, to whom you will say "payback's a bitch" as the cycle repeats itself. This is blue pill and blue balls all at once.

2) You think about it all the time. When you finally do get revenge, it's turned out he still won because of all the hours he made you waste over the years thinking of him while he was moving on with his life.

3) Get revenge disproportionate to the original offense, look like a fucking spazz nobody wants to spend time around.

Best is just take shit straight to him right away and do what you need to do. Sneaky shit plays well in the movies, but it's really hard to get right in real life without fucking yourself out of your own social circles.
