Ultimately not worth mining directly. Power cost and accommodations trump the income.

Mining Etherium, Doge, etc is better in the long run. If you trade these alt-coins for BTC, you can turn a major profit.

Because it is. In reality no one knows what crypto currencies are worth and their future is unclear as well. It's all good now, but the moment gubmint gets threatened by digital monopoly money, you can bet your ass this crypto shit is getting a crackdown.

Right now crypto currencies are full blown 100% "All in on red" speculation. If you want to make money on them you should probably wait until this bubble pops and the prices fall. These cycles have been shown to repeat themselves. Majority of noise about buttcoin right now is being made by NEET /biz/ness men, showing epic gains by turning their 500 euros into 1000. Seriously, those cunts effectively killed that board.

I have two guesses one that bitcoin is just so useful for money laundering, weapons, and drugs that even a limited supply would eventually skyrocket in value as an alternative currency to the restrictions of cash and bank accounts, or this could be the Chinese speculating?

Just some obvious questions.

Beware the founding Bitcoin holders. They are aspiring to become the new digital Rothschilds. Who else would fund the so-called hit contract against President Trump? Ask yourselves: why is neanderthal David Brock of all people on the Bitcoin Foundation's board?

Ethereum is hilarious because it has inflation built in and its friends are suspiciously corporate. It's basically a slightly more public Federal Reserve, meaning death would be preferable.

Always ask yourselves: who is running the nodes? Are you running one? Why not?

Ethereum has the ability to build smart contracts that are automatically executed when certain conditions are met. This is why businesses are so keen on it. Automatic self enforcing contracts stored on an uncorruptable public ledger means you can trim massive amounts of overhead. Bank of America is testing it with settling some type of credit line for example, say x date comes and this triggers a payment (with no wire transfer involved) automatically

IBM developed a proof of concept for a smart washing machine with an Ether contract to wash laundry when loaded when electricity is cheapest and to automatically order detergent when it runs low at the lowest price it could find online.

I think it needs to hurry up and fail before I start to genuinely feel like I made a mistake by not buying at 300. It has a system where it can only authenticate # number of transactions in Y number of time, and because of its shit ownership and how its just kinda out in the open, they said they have no plans to fix it. So it is supposed to fail, absolutely, inevitably. Eventually as it grows, the wait time for a transaction will grow longer and longer, and eventually as more people find out, they will start pulling their money out of it in huge numbers.. because who wants to wait 3 days for a bitcoin transaction and then have it fail. It also increases the failure rate. Anyways, whole currency will crash over night, just like it did last time. I almost put 100$ on but decided it wasnt user friendly enough, its not easy enough to buy the coins or sell them, without a smart phone, and its risky. There were companies being hacked etc, theres all sorts of reasons its not a good idea.. but obviously, looking back it could have been profitable.

The people who make these threads own the currency and want to inflate it. Hes probably planning on selling in a day or 2, after you inflate it.

Even more reason to invest in large companies instead. They will be in a perfect position to invest at the right time. Your scenario relies on that - otherwise they cant manufacture lambos anymore with conventional currency. Your dividends would come in crypto currency at that stage.

Can somebody explain to me how bitcoin gets value? I know all about the encryption and the difficulty so far. But what makes it worth anything?
>>
>>127075300
Just buy and hold if you're just looking to make a return on your investment. Ethereum's mining difficulty is about to hit the ice age, and then when Casper launches it's switching from POW to POS so hardware mining of ETH will be dead. Get 35 ETH before it costs $35,000 so you can stake and run a node when Casper hits.

If you're flush with cash, buy a nice mining rig on top of buying 35 ETH, and once the ice age/casper hit, start selling your hashrate to Golem.

Just like fiat currencies. An agreed upon value and what you are willing to buy and trade them at based on exchange data,

Hell no, we have jew money that is created out of thin air and backed by debt.
>>
>>127075666
People use something worthless to buy shit, it gains value and the demand for it rises faster than the supply until it gets rare enough to be worth 2000 a piece.
>>
>>127076217

Most if not all currencies are fiat and tied to nothing. Why do you think muammar gaddafi was taken out. He threatened to dump the petro dollar in favor of gold back currency. Assad hinted at the same thing.

If you try and do it through the darkweb, maybe. Use an exchange that is backed by the FDIC and fully compliant with KYC regulations and you won't have any trouble as long as you report and pay taxes.

Eth is a scam (will get dumped for Bitcoins by creators and early adopter whales leaving everyone else the bagholder)

It's a bubble

Bitcoin has no future as it will never be mainstream, people will never use it has it has no advantages over traditional money.

The only advantage I've heard is escaping the 3% transaction fee credit cards charge stores, but this is offset by the transaction fee of converting money into bitcoins.

The only people that use them are criminals and investors.

Fiat currencies are backed by a countries ability to tax labor and property, there is some basis for the wealth.

Digital currencies are backed by nothing.

A decentralized pseudo-anonymous "digital cash" that (((they))) have no control over. It has a production cap of 21 million units ever (each of which is extremely divisible) and has been soaring in value compared to (((their))) fake fiat money.
>>
>>127076644
>and fully compliant with KYC regulations
THIS right here is the problem.
Any high-volume trade will trigger the exchange to report you to the IRS and possibly law enforcement. It is assumed, in the United States, by the IRS and law enforcement, that any large-volume BTC trade is drug/crime related money laundering.

You might not even know it but you WILL be investigated. You start trying to convert $10K or more of BTC to cash and police think you're a drug dealer.
And once police start looking at you, even if you're innocent of what they were originally after, no one is completely innocent. And it can be very risky. And it's dishonest to lead people into believing it's safe.
>>
>>127077147
(((They))) are buying Bitcoin and Ethereum on a large scale. (((They))) know that the jewdollar is about to crash, and when it does, crypto will skyrocket even more. Bitcoin is the new gold.
>>
>>127077072
At least you figured out what it actually was, I'm annoyed at myself for jumping to wrong conclusions too hastily mostly.
>>
>>127077370

>You start trying to convert $10K or more of BTC to cash and police think you're a drug dealer.

Why would I want to convert it to cash? If I needed fiat, I'd sell some coin on the exchange and ACH or wire it to my credit union. CTRs are only required for CASH transactions over $10,000. Electronic transactions and wires are exempt.

Sure Satan:
A person who baked a pretty cake might be inclined to swap it for bitcoin if they felt that they could find someone else who will swap that bitcoin for an item they would like to buy that they cannot make themselves. As long as enough people believe in the value, it can be traded. Much like trading ciggies in jail, although at least ciggies can be smoked if not one wants them anymore.
