I used to believe it was inevitable but now I don't think it will ever happen. The distances between our planet and other habitable planets are so extreme that we will never be able to reach them, and "terraforming" is pure fantasy.

At best we might create some little scientific outposts on Mars, but nobody is gonna want to go live there just to do it. It's a barren wasteland and it will take years to get there.

Here's the timeline:

1. Continuing struggle between the power brokers and everyone else over "globalism," which is just the movement by the elites to enslave everyone in a dystopia.

2. Elites use emergent genetic engineering, stem cells, and nanotechnology to turn themselves into physical and mental superbeings.

3. Their superior abilities make freedom and equality impossible like never before.

4. Superiority breeds contempt. Essentially, the elite become more insane than they already are. Oppression everywhere. Sorrow. Madness.

5. Resistance movements emerge, using asymmetric tactics. They come from both the far Left and the far Right. Eventually, people see the Elite as so bad, the Left and Right actually work together.

6. The elite use robotic arms, biological, and nuclear weapons.

7. Cities and infrastructure are destroyed. Gradually, these supermen are also destroyed, because for all their advantages, nature has a way of responding to our manipulations. Courage and determination overcome decadence and arrogance... also, normal people far outnumber them. But the casualties and environmental degradation are astonishing.

8. The remnant of humanity realizes we have spent thousands of years "only pretending to be retarded."

9. New leadership creates a global corporation for the purpose of colonizing the Moon, and beyond. Everyone gets a share.

10. We focus on discovery, colonization, and long term survival for our species.

You don't have to believe it, but this is what happens between now and about 2090.
