Currently if you make over $1000/mo and are single you're eligible for $14 a month in food stamps. Moms a vet on disability for a stroke pulling $1100 in SSI and that's what she gets and she lives alone. She supports herself on that money. What the hell is everyone else doing? That's roughly $8.50/hr working 40 hrs(adjusted for taxes. She takes home $1100/mo). How are people starving to death when they're working?
