Both economically and culturally.

I agree with this completely. It's going to be fucking difficult though. With LAB destroyed what might be good is if the Tories backslide on Brexit. With civil law you no longer have judges coming up with bullshit rules when they feel like it. Shit like precendence and tradition no longer has any bearing on the law. I'm thinking though that a codified constitution may actually limit the powers of the monarch more than they already have been. Convention and tradition mean nothing in legal terms. Just because the monarch by convention does not command the army or veto bills does not mean they must refrain from acting if they feel they need to. The perogatives of the monarch have never been formally defined, meaning they can technically do what they like. The only thing stopping the Queen from taking personal control is parliamenty supremacy, and her own will. And with parliamentary supremacy, I'm not even sure it's set in stone. Parliament can say what it likes, but if the monarch's perogatives grant then the power to rule, they can.
