The main thing is that it's a huge entertainment industry that rivals movies and TV. And yes, it's mostly young impressionable people who will start voting soon. Also, there are people who make a living intimidating video game companies if they don't put enough "diversity" in the games etc. These people include well-known SJWs and video game "journalists." Remember when websites dedicated to video games were in-house projects run by just a couple of guys who were probably putting their personal incomes into keeping the sites up?
