Not ustasa (wrong period) but HOS.

We called them falovka and rusty cause some delivered were not finished properly and would rust or turn brownish in a day or two in the field.

Breh i guess you know that there are a lot of exPats in Argentina from Croatia and that they are good people.
If it were not for the FAL's and some Ultimax etc. our Bljesak and Oluja would not go so smooth, our better trainer forces used them.

There were some G3's and stuff Germany "never knew about" but the FAMA and FAMTD were really respected and performed great.

Well It would not be as easy these days, and also while the Yugoslavia nation states are not great, they are much better off then the late 1990s.

Perhaps if Mecedonia goes to hell you might find it again, but these days there would be highly organized gangs that would deal with it, and not the ad-hoc method that was the 1990s where people would come up to you and say "I have a cousin who needs a home" type stuff.

Also, they are much more strict these days about entry and airtravel and so on. Not like the old days where you would show her papers and say "She with me" and then when you got to the states you would say "I adopted her" and showed a handwritten paper saying give So and so to So and so to be taken care of..

Not possible. Decades of fuckery made any large scale military movement impossible. Martial Law is also a big no-no in the country.
>The more ground they manage to take, the scarrier the whole situation becomes.
Spillover is likely. 3 possible scenarios.
1) skirmishes all over mindanao
2) martial law will force bigger muslim groups to join this shit because our president is volatile
3.) large skirmish in Luzon
These 3 are likely

no.2 is actually worse. There's only a few muslims in luzon and most of them are only in certain areas. If something happens, it will be quick but deadly.

There were non-militant movements in the US colonial area(1950's) it only got militant in the late 50's to 80's.
>also recived funding from the outside.
This is just recent, primarily from Malaysia.
>But for a certain amount time, there was a push against them, in cooperation with the Burgers.
That's when we are still under US rule/influence.
>Can you tell me what changed and allowed them to grow to its current form?
When I looked online, they started to get more and more support around 2013/2014.
More than 15 years of avoiding to tackle them head-on. After President Estrada, no one tried to solve this problem so they grew exponentially. They essentially the rule of law in areas they control and the government are just on their borders.
>>
>>126936064
Thank you for the answer.
>>
>>126934137
Left out the fact that a lot of these terrorist groups are funded by Malaysia. Marwan, the main objective of that embarrassing blunder that caused the death of 44 soldiers is Malaysian. Nur Misuari, a leader of a big islamo rebel group still won't use his real name probably because of Malaysian ties. The situation in Mindanao is extremely similar to the situation in the southern Thai provinces nearer to Malaysia where they are also struggling with muslim insurgencies.

Malaysia by keeping the Philippines indefinitely poor by draining its resources in the south through countless insurgencies and unrest makes sure that it couldn't play a bigger role in the geopolitics in the region particularly its claims on Sabah.
>>
>>126935331
MILF and MNLF are islamic factions that followed the more traditional culture they had pre spanish colonization.

ASG was more of a breakaway group from the two. Rumored to be originally organized to ward off commies insurgencies in mindanao but slowly resorted to banditry in the 90's.

Maute Group is a more recent variant of this extremist which aligned themselves with ISIS started , I think in early 2012 . it was an offshoot of MNLF and BIFF leaders. Mauta group originated form the Maute brothers in butig, The military has been on their tails for quite awhile now and since they knew who financed them but can't do shit since tbere's no substantial evidence to get a standing warrant.

Now with martial law is in place in Mindanao, I think the whole army will have a field day raking these fucks off the map.

Deforestation and roving bands of "LRRP"s to hunt and kill the enemy. Put better sensors on the air force Bronco fleet. Beg Uncle Sam for aid in return for reinstating US basing which was always a plus for the country and brought in serious cash.

Quick summary

In the war there was lot of crazy stuff, drug smuggling, gun running, and how orphan kids where sold/given away to westerners, and how I ended up buying a Serbian girl and bringing her back to the states.

So, I am not sure what to think of the following video:

On twitter they are saying that the army is fleeing, but it could be just propaganda and in reality its reinforcments going into the city.

Never trust IS claims

They might say that they are winning battles on Twitter, but in reality, something like Abu Hajaar is actually going on at the battefield

Note that the Maute group doesn't have more than 500 or so members. AFP is a force to reckon with, as it has decades of experience in fighting jungle rebellions in the Philippines.

I had a Bosniak class mate who wasn't born yet when the Yugoslav wars was going on.
While his mother was pregnant with him, her and his father was fleeing the town they lived in due to the escalating conflict going on.

While fleeing together with dozens other residents, they started taking sniper fire or something, leading to one woman standing just a mere feet away from his mom getting shot in the head.

She still has trauma to this day from this experience, although she didn't even know that woman.

The war in the nutshell is this. (I am really making this simple, Skipping over stuff.)

Yugoslavia was made up of a number of nations - they where ruled by a guy named Tito after WW2 who was able to keep them all in line.

After he died it started falling apart. You had Croats (Mostly Roman Catholic, Serbs (Mostly Orthodox) and Bosnian (mostly Muslim). In addition, Bosnia-Herzegovina had all three of those groups in it.

When Bosnia left, the serbs wanted to be part of Serbia, the Croats wanted to be with other Croats, so not only was there a general war between the Republics, but in Bosnia, there was a civil war, and it was nasty.

I was over there to help maintain stuff. (as people were donating equipment. ) And I I was introduced to a dark haired-blue eyed serbian girl. Then someone told me her dad died in the fighting, and her mom died before the war, and they where "finding her a home".

I realized they where offering her to me, and for about 300 DM I bought her and also had her passport. I did it partly that I knew that If I didn't buy her, someone else would, and some of the people buying, both contractors and mafia types would not be kind to the girl.

So I put her in my place and had her clean up and help me cook, and she really was a sweet girl. I ended up taking her back to the states, and now she the mother of three of my kids. (All born in the states).

But it really was a nasty nasty war with people getting killed not for being a fighter, but being the wrong type of person. No one liked the Muslims, and to be fair, it was the first time I really encountered them in large groups was over there.

>>126932840

Sounds like the war. I worked for years as a contractor rebuilding avionics and military engines. The Yugo wars was the only time that I felt like I was in danger while not in the front lines, as there was random mortaring and snipering. Sometimes it was just someone with a deer rifle taking pot shots at groups of civilians.

I was much younger then, only later did I realize how close I was getting really hurt or dying a few times.

Okay, here are three from the war I recall that do not involve my now wife. (Unless you want to hear about it)

The Media is REALLY REALLY Dumb.

Three things pop in my mind.

1. the military would locate abandoned houses that were owned by "Others" (For example, I was in the Croat area, and they would locate abandoned Muslim owned homes.

Then they would rig them with explosives (many times a mortar shell with a timer) and have them go off overnight.

Then they would show the media how the other side broke curfew and showed the ruined houses. That they themselves would blow up.

2. The media had a hard time understanding that troops near the front would randomly snipe since they were bored in long ceasefires. If a media member was hit or killed, they would insist it would be a targeted killing, even if at the range the pot shots happened they wouldn't know what they where shooting at (nor did they care.) Media never understood that it was just Random assholes shooting across the lines.

3. Each of the areas under occupation had there own currency after a while. You would use DM (Germany currency was king), US dollars, or the local currency. In the Croat area it was the Croatian dinar.

There was a blonde woman from a major news outlet that showed up in the Croat controlled area and she could not understand why me and other guy where warning her not to spend her Bosnia and Herzegovina dinar at the hotel. She would have been freaking murdered for crap like that. It was also funny that she was a know it all before leaving one day, and was shelled, and came back and she was much more willing to listen and much more friendly to the fellow Americans.

also aside - it always helpful if you can be able to pretend to be a Canadian at times.

I feel so much shame and regret that I was a fucking retard back then, hating Philippines because squatter girls kept adding me on Facebook and subtly asked me to give them visas.
Once I heard of that incident, I simply didn't care, and even laughed when I read the news on how poorly the President then handled it

Once I got interested into the Philippines, and read about the true horrors, I felt like absolute shit, a complete asshole, for having such view back then

Just imagine the horror of experiencing a continuous tsunami for over 24 hours. You have nowhere to flee, because the entire area is covered by sea

But I am also pissed at how PNoy and Mar handled the situation. It took them too long to organize a proper disaster relief operation, and we all know some of the donated aid were suspiciously spent

I am thankful that DPWH is making a tide embankment of this place a priority project so this horrible incident cannot happen again

Some of it slavic, some of it is turkish, and some of it is just european.

Also, in my experience, Filipinos aren't exactly the most well-versed people; they don't seem to care about the outer world. But I'll ask you regardless: What do most seem to think of Spain? What do people in your circle think of it?

It's interesting to note that even your nationalist leaders tended towards Hispanophilia, as demonstrated by the fact that they wrote in Spanish and in many cases sought overseas province status.

Aguinaldo are interesting in this regard: "Sí.

Most educated are pretty much in the 3 core cities , Manila, Cebu, Davao, They pretty much have a high regard when it comes to the spanish influence to our culture and this also reflect on the rural areas with a large population of catholics.

The more you venture south though, the more xenophobic it becomes and they pretty much are the least educated flips due to being separatists and war torn.

To be honest, most Filipinos don't really care much for Spain anymore. Some think speaking the language is quite old fashioned since English is the more prominent foreign language here nowadays. They're more interested in American and Korean culture.

My family still likes Spain though. We have relatives living in Barcelona and also in the Basque region.

If you mean extremists, then yes. He hates extremist to the point that he ordered a relentless bombing in their mountain bases a couple of months now.

The other moderate ones, I don't think he'll be touching them unless they're symphatizers which he ordered to be shot if they are armed and dangerous.

Also the reason why he declared martial law in mindanao is to weed out those who will try to give shelter to these fucks.

The US didn't need to rebuild anything and "shame" has no place in war. The US were an OCCUPYING force in both cases and the enemy had massive financial and military support from nation-states aligned against the US. That makes both wars unwinnable without demoocide which as a visitor the US cannot practice.

An INDIGENOUS force with majority population is very different in that it isn't projecting power across the globe at great cost. The Spanish Civil War was won by Franco because his side had skin in the game and they followed up by killing enough enemy to make victory sustainable.

You sound like a typical young person who thinks all wars are the same.

The Philippines have no adjacent large land border for resupply like Iraq and Viet Nam. They are mostly populated by Christians who understand Muslims are their enemy forever. A strategy of dispossessing the enemy, taking their land, and destroying their jungle sanctuaries is practical if implemented by Filipinos. The end goal should be extermination. People never reform. A religious enemy is enemy forever. They can only be killed so the world should end all idealism in that regard. Muslims have no ideals but their triumph over and enslavement of the "kaffir".

It's fashionable now to want to share and include, but those who study history know that's a Jewish lie which the Jews don't practice themselves.

Got enemies? Wipe out their people. Every enemy uterus is a weapon.

Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius

Philippines used to be the gem of tourism in Asia decades ago.
That was until the NPA, MILF and MNLF started to get out of control, and the economy had a large recession during the latter years of martial law.
Lawlessness and crime skyrocketed in the 80's-90's, along with poverty, and the Philippines was starting to be viewed as trash for foreingers, shunning them off.
Still to this day, the thought of a conflict going on there spooks them away
It's such a shame as it's one hell of a beautiful country, with so many great places to visit
Tourism is a multi-billion dollar industry(Vietnam is a great example), and can surely help the economy and curbing poverty

This is one thing Duterte is fighting for. Not only peace, and low crime rate in the country but also boost in tourism so it gets on levels comparable to their neighbors.

Now, it's estimated that with the warming relations with China, there will be 1 million Chinese tourists this year, almost double the rate from last year. Say what you want about their behavior. It's gonna generate revenue for plenty of Filipinos

Over time I grew a really deep hatred against people from Manila. To be honest, we all from the south do. We just don't express it because it may justify Manileno's claim that people from Visayas and Mindanao are inherently stupid and evil.

> Martial Law declared, but Manilenos are the ones complaining and holding a protest.
> Manila is filled with liberals, uncultured liberals with no respect for anything, no tradition, no values, and throwing morality because "the US also did this, so should we" mentality.
For several years have discriminated against us in the south. My family owns several thousand hectares of land, provides employment for hundreds of people and supplies your food in Manila... Here goes one schoolmate in college asking me if I get enough monetary allowance or if we have internet connection at home. I could literally buy his whole family.

During a concert, Manileno friends convinced me not to ride a private vehicle owned by my father's friend near Araneta, so I took my bags and luggage to ride a train (LRT) Shit was so tight I couldn't move a muscle. Guess what, some random disgusting old faggot groped me and I couldn't even turn my head back to see him.

Screw manila and their liberal crybabies. Never seen war, but the first to speak about it. I went to school in elementary for several months and years with attack helicopters flying over me. I went to school with the sound of artillery. Put 1 millennial snowflake from Manila here and he would shit his pants. It just pisses us off really when the voice of social media comes from people in Manila who knows nothing about the situation in Mindanao, especially millennials.

I'm just ranting, nothing personal.

They start to realize kidnapping tourists and workers for money nets the few millions dollars and if they scream its for Islam, they get willing retards who going to justify everything they do and tell the society not to be this racist and judgmental on them.

Also they finally contacted Saudi/CIA representatives for training, recruitment, local propaganda and weapons. Can't justify an army base without the local situation turning chaotic after all.

Depends on location.
ISIS in general is highly appealing to the friendless quiet loners who just want people to acknowledge them and make something of themselves.
However, you still need to make contact with local recruiters, most of which are located in urban centers in places such as universities and mosques.

A lot of middle aged Muslim lecturers here who are facing mid-life crisis donated and contributed to ISIS by training and signing up young retards to die for (((Islam))).
You have no idea how much everyone fucking wish those assholes just buy a goddamn sport car or a harley bike and get over their pathetic self-pity.
Thanks to their bullshit, hundreds of reported young Muslims from here died in Syria and other Middle East conflict.
Thanks to these world greatest educators.
Don't bother reporting them to the cops, the coppers can't do anything against them since it's your word versus them.
And the lecturers are technologically competent and knowledgeable enough in hiding their own tracks.

Good , doing that seems to be the way to fight the Muslims , the Spanish did something similar during against the Juramentados if i'm not mistaken

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juramentado

>Juramentado, in Philippine history, refers to a male Moro swordsman who attacked and killed targeted occupying and invading police and soldiers, expecting to be killed himself, the martyrdom undertaken as an unorthodox form of personal offensive jihad, considered a form of suicide attack.

>Unlike an amok, who commits acts of random violence against Muslims and non-Muslims alike, a juramentado was a dedicated, premeditated, and sometimes highly skilled killer who prepared himself through a ritual of binding, shaving, and prayer in order to accomplish brazen religious murder armed only with edged weapons.

>What finally stopped the Juramentados was the custom of wrapping the dead man in a pig's skin and stuffing his mouth with pork. As the pig was an unclean animal, this was considered an unspeakable defilement.

Do you even know that NorthMindanao alone earns more than Makati? Transactions happen in Manila, but it doesn't mean shit when resources, large industries, are in Mindanao and Visayas. Only because taxes are paid in Makati offices everywhere in the Philippines, and Manila gets a larger allocation than what they actually contribute. Look it up, I'm not kidding. Like a region must give 100% of its income to central manila, and they get like 30-60% of it only. You think that is fair? Is that something to be proud of that you are developing your region by using someone elses money? All our budget is in manila. that's why you can spend 7 million pesos on a fucking flagpole without worrying about where the money comes from and having Carlos Celdran or any other faggot defending it, it comes from the rest of the Philippines.
