Why should we respect those who don't respect us?

Until recently there was no prominent 'white identity' in American society. Whites were normal. People didn't really "identify" as white, they were just "like everybody else" which meant white people but people just saw that as "normal". But identity politics has been agitating so heavily to bring whiteness into the fore as an actual identity that they've essentially racialized millions of Americans who were basically blind to their white identity for many years. They did this to try and raise awareness of identity politics and make people sensitive to minority issues, but little did they know it would make whites rally around their own identity consciously instead of unconsciously as they had been all this time.

You already see the effects of this in the last election. Whites are increasingly voting as a bloc for white interests vs everybody else.
