LARP aside, people thinking that means life will go on just fine on the rest of the Continent, in the rest of the world for that matter are delusional. Getting rekt by the initial eruption might be the best scenario. The bread basket of the world will be dead. The amount of material ejected into the atmosphere will drop global temperatures for at least a decade (assuming a blast equal to the least powerful of the last three). All mid to major cities will become thunderdome zones. The only people who will stand a chance will be rural communities who band together, defend their territory with lots of weapons and have people knowledgeable in growing short season crops while storing them efficiently. That's also assuming the government doesn't make use of the military to take over those plots of land capable of still growing short season crops.

The global economy will just about immediately shit the bed the likes of which the world has never seen. Global commerce and travel will be marginal at best.

The thing with the "frequency" and "intensity" increasing... lol as a scientist and park ranger in PA watching Yellowstones webcam feed daily for years, the steam production on geysers is normal and far more noticeable in the winter. That video isnt Old Faithful erupting, its the in between steaming in Wyoming winter temperatures. You imaging going from boiling to freezing in .5 seconds... it's called sublimation. Secondly, the strength, its not the strength... again its from steam you can barely see to snow instantly. And earthquakes happen every day at Yellowstone and have been since records have been taken in the area. Its got to be a harmonic tremor for it to mean magma is moving. The area has flowing channels of water and gases that causes the minor (can barely be felt by humans) earthquakes. The river changing color and "boiling" is most likely due to a winter shift in the ground water flow from a geyser or mud pool in the area due to snow packing from winter weather.

Everyone has to chill and let scientists do the job to telling people when something is wrong. A youtuber who steals videos from the national park's webcam on their app by using screen grabbing phone or tablet software is just trying to have their 15 minutes of fame.
