Second Vatican council changed a lot. The church was like "we need to move with the times!"
I think since then mass is also no longer in Latin but in the local language.

And then secularization happened. Some people blame Vatican II council, I think it's more complicated. I'm not so sure what the church now should do about it.

Although one should always regret falling away anon, you're not alone in losing faith during teenage years. A lot of the time, I think, we find excuses to lose faith so we can seem intelligent or set ourselves apart from previous generations. Obviously, you now see (no pun intended) that because you can't see God, does not mean he does not exist. Sinning as a Christian is way less fun than before, because you don't have any excuse to behave that way. You know you shouldn't but still do and end up suffering far more than you would've if you didn't know about Christ.
