Game quality is utter shit now. RTS games haven't been good since the SC1/AoE2 era, SC4 is still the best city simulator in existence (Skylines is pretty but it's more of a design game than a city simulator), FPS games all have a shitty unlock system and DLC so there's no balance online, the latest gen of Paradox GSGs are all normie tier now, hell even Madden 07 has more features than Madden 17.

There are a few decent newer games, the entire Witcher series has been great, Civ VI is surprisingly fun and feels way different from the previous games, but it's extremely rare that I look forward to a new release now. Maybe I'm just getting old.

I wish I could have experienced the internet for real back in the mid to late 90s. I was born in 1990 so I didn't really get started until around 2000 and that was mostly to find cheat codes and talk to people on AIM.

I'm 30 yrs old, around 1999 I was living on the internet rather than do my schoolwork. I remember politics and trolling weren't super big back then, it was mostly just older people spouting references back and forth (not exactly meme territory, more like "hahaha remember that one video referencing this random thing??"). I remember politics becoming heavier when gay marriage popped up as a topic, and then 2 years later 9/11 happened and the internet spiraled into never-ending battles of religion vs atheist, nationalist vs globalist, conservative vs liberal, etc.
