Well after fifteen years I found their number and I reached out to my grandmother. I haven't called back in two months since our first conversation because I'm just nervous I guess....

I grew up Pentecostal in an Assembly of God church in Tennessee. Church was every Wednesday night and Sunday morning/night. It wasn't as insane as some of the people in this thread are claiming. It was pretty normal, and the Christian rock thing is kind of true haha. The only uncomfortable thing was when there were services dedicated to 'spiritual revival and awakening'. It was way too intense for me. The preacher is practically spitting out a sermon about letting the holy ghost take over your entire body, people screaming in tongues (think if someone saying shad-da-da-mo-hiiii-taaaaaa-dadada), while others would faint (?). There was this one old woman who would literally jog laps around the sanctuary and sometimes swat people in the front rows with flowers. There was no decoration as you'd see in a Catholic or maybe Presbyterian church. It was kind of like a huge gymnasium with a stage and baptismal tub. My youth pastor (and now the senior pastor) is a former meth addict that literally needed detures. Ask me anything.
