I honestly feel like this has something to do with English dialects, emoji are more ubiquitous somehow, or at least easier to understand globally. Like children with picture books instead of lexical ones.

Despite that fact that everyone(this isn't true) speaks English there are many forms of it, especially when you consider ebonics as a form of English, without considering it there's a good chance you won't be able to understand the meaning of everyone in the country, factor ebonics in and you might not be able to understand everyone in the same city, a picture of a smile may convey the meaning more clearly.

It may have something to do with their Egyptian heritage, they use the language of gods and kangs, modern day hieroglyphs

It's sad really. I've known a number of intelligent black people who communicate well in private with white people, then pretend to be illiterate morons while in the company of other blacks.

It's "Uncle Tom" thinking: the ridiculous idea that careful logic, measured emotions and articulate expression are signs of the white man, and emulating them in any way makes you a bitch.

It's an incredibly self-destructive outlook and a lot of American blacks are guilty of it...even though many of them are disgusted by it. They don't want to be ostracized by their own people and seen as sellouts.

So fucking strange.
