They're not picking cotton, these nigs get paid thousands to kick a ball around for a few hours when there are probably white Frogs that would kill for that opportunity.

the outpost of Pont-Saint-Louis was defended by 9 soldiers , the outpost was protected by a single barrier (7 meters wide) to block the road , the barrier was accompagnied with a small mine field (anti-tank minefield (six 105mm shells put in holes in the side of the road)) , the front of the outpost had an MG turret on an armored door , two shooting holes in the concrete (equipped with an LMG model 1924/29 , a mixed armament basically two MAC 31 put together and a 37mm canon).
what happened !
10 June 1940 , Italy declared war and invaded France , the road is then blocked by the barrier at 23h , at 23:30h the soldiers detonate a mine on the road making a hole (6 meters of diameter and 3 of depth) , the explosion of the mine temporarily cuts the phone , so the outpost was isolated + the radio is not working well (unrelated to the explosion) , the italians start attacking the 14 June 1940 , they try to pass the frontier at several points , notably that small outpost that starts defending itself with the LMG (one of the biggest attacks on it was the 20 June) until the 25 June , the outpost and the general area around the frontier is helped with artillery from Cap-Martin (75mm canon) , Sainte-Agnès (turret 75mm canon) and long range batteries from sectors far away (155mm from Bange , 155mm from Saint Chamont and 105mm from Schneider) , despite that , Italians managed to take the city of Menton (not the outpost) , by flanking and using the smaller roads around the death zone.
The armistice of the 24 June 1940 between Italia and France is put in application the 25 June 1940 , the outpost is evacuated with all of it's soldiers after closing the armored door with their keys , after the armistice , this outpost is now in Italian control.
