It was a great Manga and anime but there's a lot of filler arcs you can skip.

As for red pilled, I'm not sure about this. It's a typical monster of the week show but has some great moments nonetheless.

You can get through the whole thing if you skip the filler in a weekend.

He probably got redpilled recently because Bleach was your standard Naruto tier drama about guys with unique swords and powers. Haven't read the manga, but the anime is preety much dead after the Aizen guy (main antagonist) gets thrown in jail
