Hey /Pol/, what is your experience with homeschooling? If you have any experience with it or have any experience working/degree's in the education systems then get in here I want your 2 cents;

First, please understand. I'm making this thread because my sister is considering "homeschooling" her 4 year old son. We're both in our early 30's FYI. I've met quite a few homeschoolers in my time as I work in children's medicine bla bla bla. Point is, each time I meet a homeschooled kid/family they've all come across as socially awkward, naive, sheltered and overly dependant children while the parents all seem to be obsessively controlling in all aspects of their child's lives. Personally I think it's child abuse in this instance.

Now, I conceed that homeschooling can be legitimately better than the public schools in SOME parts of the world but only IF done for the right reasons, but imo that's a minority of homeschooling parents. We live in a nice, mostly white part of the world with public schooles rated in the top 10 countries in the entire world, and then there's the excellent private schools. Yet, my sister found "Christ" a few years ago and is seriously considering cutting her children off from the world in order to "control what goes into their heads so they turn out ok"

The irony is my sister went to public school and turned out great yet she wants to deny her kids that same privilege. Personally I think it's a HUGE mistake and she'll emotionally and intellectually stunt her children by being in total control of their lives all day every day (she works at home)

Another interesting point is my friend is a university admissions officer and pointed out to me that he hardly ever sees homeschoolers make it to uni....that made me even more worried.

I want to persuade her not to do it, so could anyone with experience in this link me to some plstudies/articles that support my point of view?

Alternatively, prove me wrong based on your own experience in this field.

They say stuff like it's fine for Abdul and Tyrone to migrate over, as long as they adopt German culture and integrate, everything is fine.
