Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams called for the removal of the giant carving that depicts three Confederate war leaders on the face of state-owned Stone Mountain, saying it “remains a blight on our state and should be removed.” Lawmakers and civil rights groups have called for the removal of Confederate symbols at the memorial for years. After the 2015 shooting deaths of nine black worshipers by a white supremacist in Charleston, several legislators pushed for a boycott until Rebel flags at the site come down.

Gov. Nathan Deal quietly struck Confederate Memorial Day from the state’s official holiday calendar and removed the statue of a segregationist leader from the state grounds. State-issued license plates featuring the Rebel emblem have been altered, though only slightly. Statues and paintings of Confederate leaders in the statehouse are facing fresh criticism. And the state is set to unveil a statue of Martin Luther King Jr. outside the Capitol this month. Abrams faces state Rep. Stacey Evans in next year’s Democratic primary, and the race has quickly turned testy. She has faced criticism for refusing to rebuke protesters who chanted “support black women” at Evans at a progressive conference over the weekend.

You guys realize that by Trump denouncing the kkk, neo nazis, and white supremacists it actually helps this country lean towards the right, right?
Let's be real they make the right look bad, the more attention those groups get the further away it will drag potential voters from us. Although Trump isn't a nazi white supremacist whatever, their support did help us in the election but when they start carrying fuckin tiki torches and seig heiling in public normal people who dont browse /pol/ all day and jerk off to anime will see that and think what the fuck is wrong with them, and when the media alligns them with everybody on the right it makes it that much more possible for dems to win the next election.
He had to specifically denounce those groups because they draw ppl away from the right.
"Oh well why didnt he denounce antifa bro? Cmon bro what about black lives matter bro?"
Those groups make democrats look fuckin terrible. Giving them the spotlight helped people see through their bullshit and drew more to our side.
Look if you're a nazi white supremacist good for you, but if you want this president re elected stop going out in public, participating in these totally fuckin pointless rallies, and alligning your nazism and white supremacy to Trump, keep it to yourself and it will help us all out in the future.
