I've been working on this for a couple days now. Will post updates
LA Memorial Coliseum
This is the initial unfolding right out of pepakura. I'm making a test build right now.
Some of the details I've included, I can already tell are too small. The small towers elevated on either end of the entrance are barely manageable, The thin spire of the torch is literally about a mm in diameter so that's probably going to have to be a roll of paper. instead of the actual geometry I have now.
Here's the (not glued into place) entrance, with a quarter for scale. I could technically get the spire on the torch glued, but it's pretty ugly. I'm also going to need to get some proper textures onto the faces eventually so there can be markings to show where you need to glue the separate pieces together
Alright so I finished the first test model. Couple more notes:
1. Absolutely need to model a base for this, especially since the field sits lower than ground level.
2. Support beams are pretty much a requirement. Otherwise the flat areas can bend pretty easily and the whole thing warps and loses it's nice shape. I added a couple (one under the field, another under the entrance area) and they helped a lot.
3. I'm not totally sure the scale of this is correct. I need to spend a little bit of time going back in google earth and measure the size of things again. I'm aiming for a 1:1000 scale finished model, and I'd like to keep that for future stadium models.

I wound up being pretty busy last weekend so I wasn't able to get anything done on this. Will get back to this on Friday, gotta study for some exams until then.
