The Tanteidan 22 convention finishes on the 14th after which they will send the book. I'd say it will be another 1-2 weeks until copies start to arrive and then maybe another few days until the pdf is uploaded

I personally prefer the diagram to the model. Yes I love folding the model but as a designer and diagrammer myself I can appreciate the hard work and detail that goes into a Kamyia diagram. The same goes for a Komatsu or Ku diagram :) So I understand the hype when there is a new Kamiya model but I do get why people get frustrated about it as there should be equal appreciation for all good designers and diagrammers

That's the same in pretty much every origami books I have / have seen.
I don't think #22 is worst than the others in that regard (just my POV, of course).

I hate Kamiya for making his diagram so complicated and hard to follow. When i tried to fold some of his models, i realized that there are many simple ways to fold, not so terribly complex as the diagram. Surely the folding way is not like the diagram shows, but it's right and in some way more good-looked. When you fold Kamiya's models, you will have to spend lots lots lots of times making the creases -_-.

you can try to look a jo nakashima videos or tadashi mori videos and make some models.

When you're doing origami from a diagram always make sure you get the right result by comparing what you've got and the drawning of the next step.

Be patient, if you fail just try again.

When printer paper become limitating for what you want to do replace it with kraft paper.

I just made a butterfly from jo nakashima video. Pretty nice! I made it with print paper and had some trouble with the reverse folds so it looks a bit beaten but it worked. Thanks anon.

I get that, I think they just get so many requests for their diagrams that they assume that all of the people are spamming them. It's not right or fair but nor is being bombarded by annoying requests for diagrams.

Also, for the famous and established folders it may not be possible to reply to all messages and they definitely won't have the time to make photo diagrams whenever someone asks them for help.

As a designer I do get people asking me for free diagrams from time to time which I either ignore if I think the person is being unrealistic and demanding, or I reply saying where they are on sale/available or when I think I will release them. I do find it annoying when I have spent many hours drawing diagrams, sell them online and then to have someone tell me how they have no money and they want me to send them diagrams for free.

Distributing old, limited & out-of-print convention books is one thing. But, distributing pay-for-download diagrams of new-generation designers trying to find financial incentive to continue designing and diagramming is kind of dickish.
