I used to do origami as a little kid, but as I got older, I just stopped. Fast forward to when I found this board, I got really mad at myself for forgetting how to make origami. The main problem is I have the dexterity of Michael J. Fox. Any advice for helping train my hands?
Pretty much everybody can learn it, it just takes some time and practice. I'm kinda disabled (almost no mobility in my right wrist, so I'm basically 1.5-handed) - and origami is my favorite pastime for the last 3 years. First stuff I tried looked like shit and I almost gave up, but I'm so glad that I didn't. It's so rewarding to finally get it right, and origami is great for nice cheap gifts.
For an easy start you could try looking into "Pureland Origami", those diagrams are easy peasy and specifically designed for people with motoric (or mental) disabilities, and some of them are pretty complex regardless. Though personally I prefer modular stuff, when you fuck up 1 module you just throw it away and make another one without having to discard the whole model.
