Has anyone here ever created one? I'd like to make something like pic-related, a full-sized papercraft model of a sports car but what's the best way to do it? Right now the best I can figure is to use Rasterbator to make larger sized pieces to print, and then gluing them onto larger boxed cardboard to cut out.

>same guy
anyway, good thread

Actually not the same guy, But same circumstances, I always accidentally click on /po/ and decided to have a little adventure here, saw this thread, and decided to make a full size paper cut out of OP's penor.

The picture looks shopped as fuck. The lighting is all wrong, the shadows look artificial, and the guy looks like a cardboard cutout, like he's floating in the scene.
But in principle, it shouldn't be different from making small papercrafts. Instead of cardstock, you'd have to use real corrugated cardboard.

This build in the pic stands at 180cm tall and uses a weird 70x30cm paper size.
The model sold in etsy is scaled down to 90cm and uses A4 paper.

I have two models

Anyway this model is sold on etsy. Unlike ETTE's newer stuff.
I'd start with modeling from the real thing. You probably want to start with something relatively simple then work up. Do it by eye and measuring first off, then gradually work out techniques along the way.
3D hand-scanners might be a useful tool to have.
Sounds like a nice project.
