hey /po/
ive been designing some papercraft for a while...
theyre supposed to be elves for a table top game/chess.
will post my progress.
second prototype
... third
finally with clothes
gj m8
first one with color
These are awesome! The inevitable question is though are you sharing? I'd love a blank template to add my own face/hair it seems fun!
>>520850
thx anon! id love to share!
i didnt really make these templates with anyone else using them in mind, so i hope they arent too difficult to understand.
clothes
hair
some MGS papercraft
>>520860
HA! thats awesome
those are really cool. The drawn on faces make them look a bit like methed-up rapists, though.
>>520866
yeah... the faces need a little work. thx tho
They look great!
I like the miniature, almost child-like aesthetic; Very adorable.
>>520860
HOLY FUCK DO YOU HAVE THE TEMPLATE?
I would be eternally grateful, and make you a custom papercraft as thanks.
Here is one that I made a few months ago.
You two are sooo talented! those look wonderfull.
Please. share >3<
>>520835
That is sick, great job m8
>>520860
That is so badass could you please share the template
>>520873
>>520925
>>520932
>>520937
thanks!
>>520911
i do, and here are the pages for it...
if you made a custom papercraft for me, all i would ask is that you make a character with the template that i posted here:
>>520855
>>520856
>>520857
forgot to post the front of the box with the cut lines...
if anyone wants just the black and white line files, i can post those too.
>>520911
also, i forgot to mention... i really like your papercraft there. very cute/cool!
if you end up makin anything with my templates, please post em up here cuz id love to see them!
>>520948
Thanks man !
heres a pic of the back of old snake for reference
>>520950
np
>>520911
If there's something strange in the neighborhood... Who you gonna call?
>me
>>520955
Ghostbusters !!
hey guys, i finally finished my first armored model!
the design is loosely based on a chess pawn
heres a rear view
>>521179
>>521180
shit, son
this is beyond awesome
this is my first concept sketch
>>521181
thanks anon!
Nice concept sketch and follow-up, you're skillful.
>>521182
Damn you've got skill.
Are these within a 1 or 1½inch square for maps? Either way I want!!!
>>520835
Awesome
>>521225
well... not exactly. i debated on the scale, and tried to make them as small as i could without losing too much detail. in the end the models end up being around 2.5 inches tall. the platform i make for each piece is 1.75 square inches, and each square space on a map is 2.5 square inches... so a chess board will be roughly 20 square inches.
the board is designed in a way where it can be fitted with terrain pieces (walls, trees, rocks) in any way the GM wants so it can support any number of map designs.
this is all still in active development, but i appreciate your interest!
Cheque my dubs you fucking faggots
I see, well they are too big for my maps but I will build one from the earlier posted template just to see how it goes.
>>521226
>>521227
>>521234
thank you much!
i will keep posting my crafts in this thread for as long as its up (this is a long term project, so likely more threads in the future). but if youre interested in seeing more of my work, and concepts for these papercraft characters, heres my DA; bceman.deviantart.com
>>521242
im sorry theyre too big... when i was making the base models, i was afraid they would turn out too big for a comfortable table top game size... but if i went smaller, the characters wouldve been too small to reasonably cut/fold/glue and i wanted to keep all the modeling detail i could.
anyway, what kind of maps do you have? mind posting a pic of what youre talking about?
I build my maps out of card board. A lot like this guy. http://youtu.be/pd7gd8rP7Xo
>>521521
wow... thats really cool! im not much of a painter tho (which is why all of my crafts are printed on paper).
Shoot the way i make them doesnt require much skill at all
>>521653
no problem anon.
thank you much! im glad you like it.
here is an update of the basic frame for the elves.
just so everyone knows... all of these sheets are measured at 300 dpi on 8.5" x 11" sheets for printing. the unwraps are cramed close together so i could double up and fit multiple figures on one sheet.
>>521653
armor for the pawn.
>>521653
heres characteristics for the pawn... the squares are for the pants, and the strips are for belts (around the torso, so they will mostly be hidden).
if anyone needs a more extensive explination on the construction of these, please ask.
also, i will update on here soon because im in the middle of constructing a few new models, including some environment pieces.
>>521653
just in case you wanted my pattern for the pants...
i finally finished my next model! this is a autumn pawn for my eventual equinox chess set. this is the model without the full armor set. ive also adjusted the hands to be able to hold things. i will eventually make weapons for him, but for now i used a toothpick.
heres the fully armored model.
another view
rear view.
some concept art for the latest model.
>>521994
thank you
aluminum foil
>>521995
you can also use aluminum tape it already has a sticky side and is easier to apply since it is a little sturdier
>>522026
great suggestion! thanks anon!
>>520804
amazing work
do you have a blog or deviantart or something like that?
>>522041
>deviantart
There's no need to insult him!
>>522047
DeviantArt is just a tool. A free host for putting some of your art online so you can send it to people across the internet. Same as a Tumblr account. I have both. That doesn't mean I'm an edgy teenager or a liberal fanatic, it means that these were the tools I used to get the results I wanted at the time. Tossing out assumptions about people based on the website they post to is silly. Especially on 4chan.
>>522059
agreed 100%
>>522062
4chan talking about how its user base is superior to that of tumblr and deviantart...
new hilarity reached
>>522062
Hitler commissioned Porshe to create the Volkswagon Beetle. If you drive a Volkswagon, you support Nazis.
See how silly asspull blanket associations are?
>>522090
you obviously dont understand my comment. i think that all of the sites listed have their fair share of dumb asses... the site is just a tool. if it serves my purpose, then the site used is irrelevant.
otherwise, i dont understand why you think my choice of aluminum foil is really so bad... ive considered using metallic paper, and i may in the future, but you dont have to be rude about it.
>>522095
They're just being a Dumb ass troll and trying to pull yer chain best to ignore his type. post more of your good work if you can
>>522111
good call. thx anon
test
>>522698
thx anon.
yeah, i want to sell the finished sets, but i will also be interested in giving out the files for anyone to print out and make (probably for free).
>>521179
>>521180
Very much into this. I haven't been on /po/ in at least five years and I'm here now looking for this sort of thing exactly.
Great stuff.
>>523281
thanks anon! ive been on a little hiatus for a month or two for personal reasons, but ive been designing more stuff that i will be posting here soon.
once i have these more developed, i will post info (maybe vids or something) on my process with downloads for characters and frames.
i thought id share my first tree model... more environments and characters soon to come.

tome i made for a model.
>>520804
Nice Skills
i was pretty depressed until i found this thread
typing that made me depressed again
>>527420
thanks anon!
>>527423
thanks also, i think
heres the concept for a new model im finishing this week.
>>521179
Wait, did you use the foil from gum wrappers for those? I can see the zigzag edge from them on the chest piece.
>>528122
nope, its straight up aluminum foil. those marks mustve come from how i glued the foil onto the paper before cutting it :/
(it was my first attempt)
You did a great job with these, thanks a ton for sharing!
>>521715
>>521714
>>521713
>>521712
You did an excellent job designing the figure, but would you mind uploading a version of this with an explanation of how to build? I have no idea where the parts go and am only slightly familiar with papercraft. Do I just need to get gud and this sheet is all i need? Its pretty confusing to look at all these pieces.
>>528603
>>528859
thank you very much!
>would you mind uploading a version of this with an explanation of how to build?
yes i will. looking back i can definitely see how these sheets are very hard to understand (sorry about that)
in the mean time, here is my latest finished model... first character with a weapon!
back view
... keep forgetting my name
Oh man these are beautiful

berenstEin
I dont know how I ended up here,
but I just want to tell you that you got some great skill.
>keep it up!
this shit is awesome, keep posting please!
These are all incredible; can't wait to see the full set!
So fking inspired OP! keep it up
OP is fucking talented confirmed!

>>529975
>>529992
thank you much!
for anyone interested, this is a PDF ive made about my modeling process which i will follow up with sheets of all the models ive made, with specific instructions for construction. (the sheets i release will have the cut/fold lines on them)
>>530026
Do you know how cool you are?
Thanks for this.
>>530026
I've got to say you are one talented person. Amazing work, and thank you for the instructions. Keep it up!
>>530026
I see on your photos and in the PDF that you got a Silhouette cutplotter? I'm considering to get one of their cheapest models, for around 170€... would you recommend it? Or would you pick another company? (specifically a Brother Cut'n'Scan which I could grab at a local store nearby, so I'd save shipping fees)
>>530032
>>530074
unusual compliments to get on 4chan, but thanks all the same!
>>530075
yes, i have a silhouette cameo which i got for under $300 and have been using for about a year... otherwise i have to admit that i am not much of an authority on cutting machines, as this is my first and only. i got the cameo because it was one of the cheapest at the time that seemed adequate for what i needed from it.
so i cant speak for other equipment, but i can say that the cameo has been a pleasant surprise, even for the things i wasnt sure about with it. i can also say that the software for the silhouette hardware is pretty good. i wish it could trace black and white lines a little better, but in the end there is nothing that i have imagined that the software and hardware hasnt been able to reasonably meet.
>>520859
that's just a box
>>530026
This is just too kickass.
Thank you so much for this.
These are amazing OP. The use of the paper's flipside on the sleeves is genius.
>>531085
>>531499
thank you both very much!
here is a model that i started a long time ago, but only just finished recently... my mom died earlier this year on february 9th of cancer. she was 56. this cuts deep for me because she was a painter and originally influenced and supported my art. this is my memorial urn for her.
>>520944
Why the hell does he have watermelon pants. I'll try to shop that out later.
>>532580
youtu.be/OfgNaazNPSg?t=4s
>>532594
Awesome. Welp thats what I get for not playing 4 I guess.
Thanks anon.
>>532603
i assume youre into the metal gear series if you want to make a snake papercraft, so i would highly recommend it. great game.
>>532594
I came a little from watching that.
