I noticed that about the window too. Honestly I wasn't sure what the subject was when I took the photo. This whole area with the stove and window really stuck out in the room with different tiles, the gingham curtains, and of course the shiny kettle.
I guess what I like the most about this photo is the quiet, lazy afternoon atmosphere it has somehow.
Any other remarks here regarding more technical matters?
Pic related is another photo from this kitchen (Claude Monet's kitchen in his Giverny estate house), a bit boring in my opinion. The subject here is the tiles.

Easier said than done, and I agree and know it very well. From the past 200 photos I took in the past few days, I deleted all but around 10 of them, and even those were just passable in my opinion.
That's what gets me down - even if I was a love child of Ansel Adams and HCB - if I don't have enough interesting subjects around me, I still won't be able to take good photos. I realized that I don't travel nearly enough, nor have much going on in my life on a day-to-day basis, and when I bought an actual camera and started looking for things to shoot it became even more obvious.
Now I'm more dissapointed about the fact I probably won't be able to use the camera to its full potential and I paid for it more than I should have.

Some of my recent photos were taken during my visits to the hospital. I don't travel, I don't like traveling. That effectively make me not being able to take any good photos.
Or so I thought. If I have the chance to take a photo, I'll take one. If I see a good opportunity and I have the time to stop for a while to take a photo, I'll take one.
I'm not looking to be a popular photographer and I'm not particularly interested in impressing other people with my photos either. What I like to do is showing people what I like. If I think a photo looks good, it's uploaded to the Internet. And unsurprisingly, this rarely happen. I can only get around one or two lucky shots in a year. Yes, I depend on luck.
The thing about traveling is only if you want to be noticed. Or popular, to build a profile or portfolio because you want to be a professional photographer. Or something like that. Because what's the point of being noticeable if you took photos that millions out there have already taken?
