My Dad has given me a his Contax 139, As I am studying photography at sixth form collage.

The camera shutter jams intermittently and I wondered if any members knew someone who could refurbish/fix the camera.

I have put in new batteries so this is not the problem.

I live In Essex and can go to London so I would be grateful if anyone could recommend someone who could get it back to working order.

nice camera, great lenses
first step will be this >>3139859 but be ready to find out that it is too expensive or not repairable. A cheap Yashika body will use the same lenses if you want to shoot film or get an adapter for a mirrorless.

Contax lenses however are the only lenses I have seen people full on convert rather than adapt to either Nikon F for manual lenses or Canon EF with the AF Contax. The canon conversions I have seen even maintain AF focus and aperture contro, I don't know who did these conversions but they were coming out of Japan.

SLR usually isn't worth repairing unless it has sentimental value. Be prepared to spedn $2-300.
