Hey, /p/
I'm heading down to North Carolina for the total solar eclipse and am going to the top of a mountain to try and record the event.
However, I have practically no knowledge of how to get a clean recording considering the unique light conditions (I'm as novice as a photographer as you can imagine).
Since I will be in a localized shadow with a large landscape what sort of settings do I use on the camera? What ISO level, etc? It's my understanding that you shouldn't leave it up to auto if you want something crisp. I plan to record video as well as take photos.
Anyone willing to offer any advice?
I have a Canon PowerShot SX500 IS if that is relevant.
Yes. Copy what you wrote, go to reddit, post it there and kill yourself.
Any second opinions?
