>tfw sister bought me this camera

She went to Singapore and I specifically told her to get me a Sony a6500 or a Fujifilm XT-20. Her only excuse is that she lacks the budget but I told her that this camera is more expensive and she said it looks "cute".

What the fuck /p/. I was memed hard. How much can I resell this?
>>
What's wrong with it?
>>
>>3134463
this is a 10x better camera than sony a6500
>>
>>3134463
Since the A6500 is mirrorless (I think), and the Fujifilm XT-20 not, and they both cost $1500 aproximately (I did the calculation based on MXN to USD) and this only costed her $350 is actually a quite economical price.
>>3134466
>What's wrong with it?
Nothing, it's a good camera and if you're planning to sell it, don't use it, but if you want to give it a try, just do it.
>>she said it looks "cute".
Anyway, you could have told her other cheaper options, and maybe that cameras aren't measured by it's cuteness. Still good luck! I would buy it
If I had the budget to pay you
>>
Models are going to laugh at your tiny unsatisfying sensor faggot

honestly, what the fuck is your mental defect that compels you to make a few of these every goddamn day?

It's $800 only about $100 more than the shitty OMD EM-10 Mark II and even then if you got Meme4/3 you will spend more money on their shit lenses.
>>
>>3134463
you get free shit and then complain about it? you don't even deserve a camera. kys plz
>>

If you buy body only. With a kit lens it's about $1000

so what's wrong? it won't take pictures?

The om-d looks more like a traditional camera which is prob why your normie sister thought it was better
Are cameras cheaper in Singapore? Is that why you had her buy you one there?

OP, please. We already know you hate M43. It's fine. Problem is - M43 users don't really care about this. You use Sony/Fuji or something else - good for you. We use Panasonic/Olympus - good for us. .
/p/ is a slow board and i think we could live without few of these bait threads up at the same time, so it'd be nice if you stopped that and focused on having fun taking photos instead.
>>
>>3134664
I live in Singapore and I'm the cameras here seem quite costly. Some of us fly to Hong Kong for better deals.

Stop being a faggot, OP.

It's a great camera, just go out and take some goddamn photos rather than complaining about your gear (or lack thereof)

Singapore is costly generally. HK is perhaps a little cheaper than most places around Asia but probably not worth flying to unless you are buying a lot of stuff all in one go.

laptops are different because of the quantity sold.
sony a9 is RM21800.

it's better to fly to japan and buy there.

the great thing is M4/3 sensor and the auto 110 film are the same size

why are m/43 cameras still so xbox huge in relation to the sensor?
>>
>>3135514
Screen in back, interchangeable lens mount, buttons, pressure to look like a "real" digital camera.
A m4/3 p&s would be neat. Like the Pen-F without all the extras.

The Auto 110 is a real SLR with interchangeable lenses, mirror mechanism, pentaprism, and a film transport mechanism. it could even accept a motor drive and external flash
>>
>>3135520
>a m4/3 p&s would be neat

the panasonic lx100 (or the version made by leica, the typ 109)
>>
>>3135514
Auto 110 was an engineering marvel, but it had to sacrifice a lot to be that small - it was a very basic camera even by the standards of that time.
A digital camera has one or more electronic PCBs, flash, relatively bulky battery, IS and/or AF mechanisms, metal focal plane shutter, screen and a shitload of buttons. This applies to all of them, not just m43 - you won't find a FF digital camera as small as a Mju-II, or a MF digital camera that fits in a coat pocket.
>>
>>3134632
Holy fuck, I know right? Really doesn't deserve any camera with an attitude like that.
If my brother brought me anything I would be overjoyed that he even thought of me when off having fun.

perhaps, perhaps not.
I don't imagine the Ricoh GR would change much in size if they were to put a ff sensor in there, the Sony A7 is pretty equal in size to any vintage manual SLR without sacrificing anything (the EVF is honestly an improvement to OVF in a lot of ways) and the Leica M10 is pretty dam close to the correct Leica M dimensions (M3,M4 & variants, M6, M7, MP).

I don't know why camera designers love buttons and dials for fucking everything, The Nikon Df abomination is the perfect example of designers not knowing or not giving a shit what consumers want.

It's our right to complain. If you fucked up your work your boss will complain. OP's sister had one job.
>>
>>3135619
If you put a FF sensor in a GR, you'd likely have to increase thickness or sacrifice lens speed.
The main problem with compactness is that with film cameras, you could put the focal plane only a couple millimeters from the back, while digital cameras need to fit a screen with backlight and protective glass, a PCB and perhaps an IS mechanism behind it. With all other things being equal, a digital camera is always going to be fatter, and the only way to compensate is removing stuff like the mirror box - but when it comes to pocket cameras, there's often nothing to remove.

>>3135621
While neat, it also meant severe restrictions on lens designs and overall system expandability.
>>
>>3135953

I'd love a small digital camera with no big screen, but instead just an evf for compactness.

Shit would rock.
>>
>>3135958
A quality EVF adds as much bulk as a screen if not more, just in a different shape. And reviewing/sorting images with an EVF is a pain in the ass, especially if it's a small one with a shitty eye point.
