Clueless amateur with EOS 700D.

I found a B+W Circular Polarisor in a box. Can /p/ give a brief "how to" on this thing?

I also found a Luxon skylight 1A in the same box. Should i just throw it?

skylight filters are pretty much only used for protecting your front lens

you put it on your lens, then you go outside on a sunny day

put it on your lens and turn it till it looks good
