$1000 CND is not a resell price, that's about relate.

If you came into my store trying to sell this i would give you $200 maybe 300 CND tops for it because I need at the very least 100% mark up on used in order to make the risk of outright buying something and a 30day warranty viable. Put a sticker price of $1000 on it and hope to get $800. To consign I take 30% of the final sale price but they are sold without a warranty.

the problem is that only collectors are going to buy or sell this type of camera and they all know the asking price of these is around a grand, so they are all looking for the "deal" by getting one for around 7-800. The only you are making money at this OP is if you find someone who is desperate to complete their collection.

the ups and downs of the Canadian collector camera market has more to do with the dollar against USD. Sure the dollar could go further down next year and you might have a chance to make $1-200 on your investment, but people don't tend to buy when the dollar is down. It is best to buy when the dollar is close to par, but if you are doing it for the investment you are better off just buying and selling currency. That said there are much better investments out there.
