it's not fun. i mean they look great, but the other day i tried using photoshop and i actually made my photo looks like one of those VSCO filters and it made me happy. it's way more fun that way

now as we have a vsco thread can someone explain how it's different from instagram?

They're lazy. Most people use them without fully understanding what it is about the effects that like. I like the VSCO look but I prefer to achieve the same results my own way so that I have more control

I like using them to skim through 100 different looks on my photos in 2 minutes, which would be impossible otherwise. And it helps me see different changes done to my images that I wouldn't think of otherwise. With that being said, I never leave the looks stock, I always change them significantly

How do I learn to make those type of effects?

I enjoy making my own presets in Phosotoshop but I don't really understand what I'm doing, I just try to make it look pretty.
