If you were to hand someone else your camera, would they be able to use it effectively enough to get a good photo of you? I've tried to have people I know use my XE2 to take a photo of me instead of a phone and they're like wtf is this? can no one use a standalone camera anymore?
This thread is fucking retarded
You know that's been like that from the bigining of time right.

Whenever i let my family and/or friends use my camera, I always switch to auto mode. I trust the camera more than my friends.
I let a friend, with virtually zero experience with cameras, take a snap with my gr2.
Pic related, it wasn't that bad.

Others are more than welcome to use it, but since it is a manual focus rangefinder, most can't figure it out.

Its not so much them not being able to use it but that they cant "use it" like i do.
I take awesome pics of mates with nice compostions .. mountians in back ground level horizon and rule of thirds etc etc.
I hand the camera over to them to take a picture of me and they just take the most dumb ass pictures. Even after explaining where to point it.
It enrages me so much that i dont even bother anymore....
No, so I bring a tripod for photos of me or my group.
I have a Leica m9 so no chance. I just giv them my phone.
put in on auto mode with flash disabled and make sure there is an autofocus lens on it. if they are truly retarded turn on liveview.
Why is this a thread? fucking weeb fujicucks I swear to god
>>3127982
I thought this is why they still put auto mode on cameras.
>>3127982
No, normals can't work the 1D
No I kinda do want to see how people would react if I handed them my C33.

Canon 1d Mark II
I'd say most of my friends would be smart enough to figure out how to take a photo with it after a few minutes.
No.

With higher end modern digital cameras? Sure.
Handed mine off to a under 8y/o (dunno how old exactly) kid before, worked fine enough.

>"Can I use your binoculars?"
Sometimes. There was a meeting and I gave mine camera for a while to a girl I know. I had it set on aperture priority, and after showing her how does the focus peaking works (no AF, vintage lens), she took decent pictures of the event. She also looked really happy when she was taking photos. I've also credited her in the shot I shared amongst attendees. There was no money involved for neither of us, but I hope this little bit of recognition made her smile again.

My friend went to Taiwan last October and I gave him a cheap film Ricoh point & shoot to photograph all the things he saw that we really don't have in the states. For somebody who has little to no photography experience the results came back great.

Depends, if I set my AE-II prism to auto most seem to handle a Bronica ETRS decently, although I usually have to explain how the focusing prism works
