next time try not to go above f/16
at f/16 you still have diffraction but its not as bad as f/22
i typically dont shoot above f/11 because your increased depth of field is softened by diffraction
just try to stay between ISO 100-400 as a rule of thumb and only bump it up when your shutter speed starts to slow down. stay within f/4 to f/8 you typically won't need to go outside of that range for these kind of shots unless you want bokeh then thats a different story you can youtube for yourself

I might have tried out a tighter lens to be able to show a clearer subject. I might have started playing with that interesting light over there on the left seats. I like this photo. Good colors, pleasing scene, solid composition (there seem to be two anchors for me, one being the boat obviously and the other being the father and child, with a pleasing leading line between the two. The only constructive criticism I would say is that it looks like with some more post-processing the picture could realize its potential a lot more. Second would be that although there are those two prevalent visual anchors the picture still strikes me as a bit overly busy, with the other people. I know it was likely unreasonable to try to wait for the other people to basically fuck off but that was my main issue with this photo. Like I said though I think this is solid.
As for my photos, please rip me apart. I feel like I've gotten into a rut with my photography where I post pics on 500px that I'm pretty proud of then I get a pitiful amount of likes on them (albeit they don't get that many views and likes aren't the arbiter of quality, but it's the best I've got as of now).

I don't understand, are you asking us why your last photo is bad? That's something you should try to work on diagnosing yourself to get a better handle on what you like and don't like and what you think determines quality, In terms of this picture, I wouldn't say it's bad per se but to me it just isn't compelling. It seems dreary in tone (to me) without much emotional punch to back it up into a meaningful picture. If there was something you were 'going for', I'm personally not really seeing it.

It looks like you're in focus alright but I think that toning down highlights and some vignetting would help to lend more gravity to your focal point, as of now it seems to be a bit 'busy'. In terms of your focal point there doesn't really seem to be much there that really strikes me. Was there something that you were going for with this picture that I'm missing?

I wouldn't say it's immoral at all, posting on /p/ and explicitly stating you found SD card is aight but if you were to submit it to a competition for a prize or got any sort of acclaim for it would obviously be a different story. That being said, I think you did a solid job with your post work. Good colors, reasonably sharp. The picture doesn't really grab any attention aside from the pretty colors though even though it seems the stump or whatever is what I'm assuming is supposed to be the focal point. Although it looks like this was taken around sunset, did you add a tone to the highlights to make the sky pop more at all or anything? If that's natural that's a scene I'm jealous I wasn't there for.
