I would like to buy the Minolta MD 50mm f/1.2 for pictures by night.
Would you recommand it ? Is Olympus 55mm f/1.2 better ?

Can't find a direct comparison but you can see the Olympus measurements here http://zone-10.com/cmsm/index.php?option=com_content&task=section&id=10&Itemid=97
And compare to some other Minoltas like the 58 1.2 mc

I like it very much. But when I use it with the Microprism Viewfinder of my srt, it's rather tricky to get the focus right, especially in low light

Not worth the markup. None of the old 1.2s are.
Just get the dirt cheap 50mm f/1.7

I have the 1.4, best middle ground between the 1.2 and the 1.7.
I use it on a XT1 and rarely put it off. My work is mostly portraits, day and night.

Thx ! I think I'll keep my f/1.4 or my 1.8 with a soft flash.
