So do you guys carry an xbox huge slr around with you all the time?
I have a GR II for carry around stuff.
I recently got a 6D as well though
What is this, a camera for ants?
>>3120427
pen f is actually hueg.

>they still use inferior digishit

people judge you by the size of your camera, and are willing to give you respect if you have a big dslr.
whenever I use a small camera, people always give me a lot of shit, yet when I have my big black DSLR, they all cower at my ```Professionalism'''
>>3120427
I don't, I bought a decent mirrorless.
And honestly, if it wasn't for everyones ibsistence on the useless super-duper 1080 swivel touchscreens on modern cameras, we could have something as compact as the film SLRs in the old days.

Why did he go out of his way to pick the biggest lens he had for his pen f and then throw a grip on it?
Like sure I like my grip on mine if I am shooting with my voigtlander or 75mm but most of the time I just use the 20mm or 14-42 ez with no grip and have it be way smaller than a sony can be
>>3120461
>useless super-duper 1080 swivel touchscreens
I beg to differ, swivel screen are useful af.
>>3120462
He was going for equivalent deth of field.
Grip is a personal choice. I prefer it personally.
>>3120462
people think cameras are meant to be used one-handed
I don't live in a very professional lifestyle so I'm afforded the ability to always have a kitbag on me, so I don't usually go out without my D7200.
Luckily a few months ago I found a pretty small lens that I really enjoy (28mm 2.8) - y'all said 42mm was a really awkward focal length but I'm really enjoying it.
>>3120472
>y'all said 42mm was a really awkward focal length
Whoever said that was a dum dum
>>3120472
>y'all said 42mm was a really awkward focal length
Whoever said that awas a retard.
40mm is the sweetspot.
Hipsters, big cameras are hip too. It's just like digital slrs do not taste like special snow flakes.
>>3120461
>added grip
>one of the smallest E-Mount lens
>one of the biggest MFT lenses for that focal length
>comparable
Stop posting the same fucking picture over and over again, fuck off with your spa, shillbot
>>3120510
It was a comparison of equivalent focal lengths and depth of field.
The m43 lens actually fell a little short of equivalent dof.
If you know of a smaller lens that comes closer, let me know.
No, I just have a GR in my pocket if I'm not specifically out shooting.
>>3120446
And do they cower when they see your actual work?
>>3120427
Yeah I always have my film slr strapped to me and my compact strapped and ready to go in hand.
>>3120479
>>3120480
found the bros
Is it safe to leave a DSLR in the trunk of your car? I don't wanna lug it around places I won't be using it.
>>3120435
>muh portability
>>3120462
25mm on m43 is similar in focal length to 55mm on ff
>>3120495
Hey
he just made a sweet blad
>>3120554
There are also like 5 smaller m43 25mm lenses. He picked the very biggest 25mm lens he could and the smallest sony 50mm he could
>>3120559
>He picked the very biggest 25mm lens he could
No, he picked the one that was closest to an equivalent depth of field.
>the smallest sony 50mm he could
That is actually the second largest 50mm for e-mount. Only the f 1.4 ZA is larger, and there is nothing close to that depth of field in m43. He could have used the much smaller SEL50F18F for example.

Not since I got my GR. that goes everywhere with me. But on jobs i'll take my DSLR w/24-70 just to give the impression I know what i'm doing
>>3120559
but it's an equivalent lens in focal length, and nearly similar in the dof
>inbf stupid fast Mitakon of voigtlander
comparing the size of a manual focusing lens to a auto-focusing lens is cheating
>>3120587
It becomes unfair for the m43 if manual focus lenses are included. There are sone absolutely tiny m-mount lenses with absurdly wide apertures that easily cover a FF sensor.
>>3120587
or*
>>3120555
The face is missing though. Does anyone care enough to post the hassleblad face?
>>3120590
it even comes with the same kit lens
how do you guys carry your dslr with you? What's a decent shoulder bag?
>>3120597
I just toss an a6000 in my messenger bag
>>3120597
I usually just keep is slung across me on its strap, and keep a spare prime in a fanny pack. I honestly don't care what people think about how it looks, and fanny packs are super handy in general.
I just use a manfrotto camera bag and throw all my shit in that. I have an a6000 and a film lens or 2 so it's not to heavy. A backpack is nice bc it just become a part of you. It's got room for everything else I need, laptop, deodorant, a couple books, etc.
I actually intend to buy FF DSLR and carry it in my backpack (in additional camera bag for protection) whenever I can.
>>3120637
>fanny packs
t.utilitarian, but cringy white person
lemme guess, you also wear cargo shorts?
>>3120528
they will never see my work, on the stop they can only react based on the professional of a guy with a big black DSLR and tripod, without knowing what his work actually looks like. you can't possibly be a serious photographer with actual good work if you're using a small camera, right? people are very prejudiced in that way, it's our nature.
>>3120660

>>3120660
nope, if I did I wouldn't need the fanny.
I have a smaller one that I generally use if I just want to bring an alternate lens, which I don't think a lot of people notice, and a much larger one that I can fit 3-4 lenses in, and a handful of other stuff. I generally only bring the larger one if I'll be out for a long time, and don't want to bring a backpack.

i'm confused

its a hood for a pentax lens, my dude
should i switch to mirrorless instead of dedicating myself to a nikon dslr? I only spent money on the body and a $150 lens so far.
>>3120835
Use what you have currently to learn, but if you do decide to invest more money in the future then perhaps you may want to seriously reconsider before buying any deeper into the system. Mirrorless cameras have come a very long way and its all I use now, they're only going to get better and better.
>>3120427
No, DSLR's are a pain in the ass to carry around on a daily basis. Mirrorless cameras are the future.
For me its usually just a Fuji X100F or a Ricoh GR II + Sony A7Rii if I need a zoom lens.
