I've got dozens of uncut developped 35mm film rolls.
Whats the best way to cut them and to archive them? Do I buy plastic sleeves or the one in pergamon paper? What preserves longer?
I want to do this in hope I'm able to afford in the future a better scanner.
What's next? You guys put them all in a folder?
right now the films are like this
i've got like 30 of them
shit is going to be a long work but I love to do it the autist I am

Just get a scanner/digicam rig with a roll film adapter. Scanning roll film is faster than scanning cut-and-sleeved film when you have proper equipment.

printfile selves and file cabinet hangers work great
scissors are fine for cutting your negs

Get a negative binder, cut them into strips of six. Make sure that you aren't leaving a single frame alone too. I'll post a shot of mine when I get home.
But I hear there are some scanners taht will take a whole roll and autofeed it, might be best to pick one of those up.

Just cut in strips of 6 and put in sleeves and put those in a binder. I prefer the paper but I could only get plastic in MF size. Bonus with the plastic kind is that you can see what's on them more easily but you should write the subject matter on top anyways. Even better yet would be contact prints in front of every sleeve but I think those are a bit of a waste of expensive photo paper.

Holds a full roll per pafe (though this is a 27 shot roll), I can write on the plastic, and it has an insert for roll info.

Are any of these good for contact printing straight through? Glassine certainly isn't.
>>3116742
Plastic ones are the best apparently
Forget glassine, it will stain

OP, you want PrintFile brand sleeves in 6 negs wide, 7 strips long configuration.
They are the most expensive, I believe, however all of the other brands I'd tried are flimsy and nasty by comparison, using glued cellophane rather than welded polyethylene.
Glassine is of course trash, because it's made of natural, permeable, textured woodpulp, which over time will allow moisture to attack your negs, and also start to imprint its texture on them, and also pretty much stops you from seeing the negs without pulling them out.

thanks
bumppp

Pergamon to archive so they can "live" longer
Plastic just to make contacts real quick
and return back into pergamon

In short....buy lots of pergamin
And a few maybe 2 plastic for contact prints and reuse
