I've got a Nikon D5000 and am looking for a prime lens, maybe something around 35mm.

Want something cheap that gives me the best quality, maybe something I can get for even $50.

you have hundreds to spend on a camera but not a lens?
anything in the $50 range is either shit or nonexistent so good luck
if you insist on being a poorfag, get a e series 35mm from eBay. cheap plastic but optically fine

considering the body is already outdated by 7 years and your budget is 50$ I'd recommend buying a vintage lens. If photography is something you're actually pursuing as a hobby it's worth investing in a lens as they'll last. 50$ got me someone's old film kit with a Nikon 50mm 1.4, a Rokinon 28mm 2.8 and a Rokinon telephoto on ebay.

No way you're getting 35mm equivalent on a crop body for $50. 24mm FF lenses are over $100 even if you go third party [assuming you want AF]
