I don't despise it but it's a crutch for people. If your photo is shit, a filter isn't going to make it good. Since it's a set of presets, it also encourages everyone to post shit that all looks very similar.

Also I have a natural dislike for anything digital that tries to look film

Afterlight is just vsco lite.

Vsco is some pod people bullshit and it concerns me that more people don't realize it.

I used to hate on it like everyone else.
Then I started making money taking photos and realized time = $ and they saved me time.

I tried it another day and it was stopping working when I wanted to export edited images. Snapseed didn't have this problem.

If it would work, I'd probably use VSCO, it looked less cluttered and offered just enough for my needs.
