Chromabs aside, these reeeaally painfully look like they were lit with a single desk lamp (or underpowered strobe) held too close to the subject. Your highlights are too hot, there is too much contrast, and little to no fill.

Back your lights off, physically. You'll have to increase your flash power or exposure to compensate, but ths shadows and contrast ratio will be much more natural as a result.

I recommend hitting up the Strobist and burning through most of his tutorials.
