Towards the end of a shoot today, suddenly my camera went blank, turned it on and the LCD was black. Turned camera off and on again and when it happened again. Finally it turned on and resumed normalcy, but then I was unable to take any more photos on the memory card.
About half of the 300 photos are okay, imported into LR. And the other half are corrupted, can't import them to LR.
I tried chkdsk and now am trying a file recovery program called PhotoRec to try to sort them out. Neither has worked.
Is there anything I can do to recover about 150 of my files which seem to be corrupted? I can always re-shoot, but I'd obviously rather get these ones to work.

Photorec completed without recovering any files? Are you sure you selected all raw / jpg filetypes before you ran it?
Try recuva, it's a pain in the ass if you don't pay for it but it works.
Photorec omly recovered the photos which were not corrupted in the first place. I ran it paranoid yes, brute force no.
I'll try recursa and if that doesn't work I'll try brute force yes.

I don't know how those programs recover things, but I've dealt with fucked up cards before. Huge success with linux DD command. Then use a parser to seprate the images from the stream.

Nothing says unbreakable like the extremely delicate and time intensive process of processing film.
