ALright, motherfuckers,

Here types an ancient and never really bothered to hit up /p/ despite it being a hobby. I have decided that the time has come to step my photography game up into the digital age.

For something on the order of 15 years I have been shooting a getting older but I feel still respectable Canon getup as follows.

Elan 7e
Mp-e65 Macro
70-200mm f/2.8L IS original ed.
50mm f/1.0

I am thinking the EOS 5d Mark IV is the right choice if I jump now mainly because I am a natural light kind of person whenever possible. The 5Ds-R sounds neato but I know I'd rather have the low light and the video edge reading has me believing the mk IV has.

Maybe I should just sell off what I have and move to a Nikon system? If I were to go this route after thorough compelling I would want to keep the net cost to sub $5k USD to retain similar glass.

Concise thoughts welcome and sought.

Impetus? Family, some loose change, and my film's current state of cost when I want to go color.

Reason for Pause? The 5d mk IV is getting a smidge long in the tooth

/p/ can be a very slow board which can be both a good and a bad thing, so hang in there. Wish I could help, but I know jackshit about Canon.

you'd be shelling out for pretty much top of the line equipment. I get by fine on my 5dm2 but the m3 is pretty reasonable these days.
Wouldn't switch to canon as I bet most of your lenses will work just fine on the new system.
