what am i doing wrong?

this is shot on a gopro hero 3+ silver edition on 1080p@60fps, no protune, straight from the camera.
Is it because it is directly facing the sun?
Why so dull and washed out?
What's the problem? Grade your shit.

No amount of color gradient/correction could fix it

Angle of the sun could definitely cause lower contrast, especially if you have it in a case that's got a protective cover over the lens.

Looks very nice however looks unnatural

Only the 'Black' versions offer decent image/video quality. Anything else below that doesn't look decent at all (mediocre plastic lenses in front of the sensor, microscopic debris/haze between the elements that soften the overall contrast etc)

Looks like a dirty/greasy lens.
Just bump the contrast a tiny bit and it'll look better. Or buy a better goPro.

It's a shit camera I used to have one you should sell it and buy a real camera because the picture quality from all but the most expensive go pro are shit it always washes out in sun but they suck in low light too soooo yeah
