I am a beginner at printing and don't know where will be best to print them
(some regular shop in town or look for a specialised place? What about papers qualities and sizes?).

Do you have any tips?
Also do you need the pic sizes my cam takes?
Thanx doges.

Yeah, why is the sky always so white?
>>
>>3072926
Because you touch yourself at night and can't into exposure mode.

Does $3.50 for a 15x10 print sound alright?
I have no clue where to shop for prints.
Should I use an online shop?
>>
>>3072969
Looks like Walgreens charges $11 for that and Shutterfly charges $8. That's just from 2 minutes looking at online shops. Where are you getting your print from?
>>
>>3072992
No idea. Same, I just google and found those prices.
In the UK so stores are not the same..

I typically go through nationsphotolab

They're relatively cheap, have great deals going on all the time, and it's good quality prints.

Although I only have Walgreens to compare the quality to. But so far I've been happy with nationsphotolab. They ship them very securely as well.

>if i get a 50mm lens i can shoot in the dark
>av mode

very guilty of both

Oh, this is easy! Just send it to my Mother in Law! You see, she got con'd at Office Depot into buying an all-in-one printer/copier/fax/photo printer so she insists, and I mean absolutely insists on printing any photo, for any reason, at home!

Some selling points:
1. Poorly Calibrated
IE, if an image had a touch of Blue in any shadows, all shadows are printed with an ocean blue tint. A real bummer if someone in the photos is wearing blue. (Skintones come in yellow white or orange contour).
2. Cheap Stock Paper
3. Inconsistent Sizes because she's a retard and it's also not a borderless printer

"Oh, Anon! For Christmas, I made you a photo collage!" "Anon, don't print your photos there, I'll do it!"
>>
can you buy a home printer that can handle large sizes, like 1000+ sq. inches (a standard 28x40 movie poster is 1120 sq. inches to give you an idea)
>>
>>3074738
Absolutely, but you really need to commit to frequently printing (or be made of money if you do). You can find large printers for around a couple of grand and the print media is not only stupid expensive, but for most of them, if you don't print decently often, the heads will dry up and you have to replace them...and I'm not mentioning the pain in the ass keeping one calibrated is.

Get a small sized print first to see if you like it. Then go big. This is a 16x24 of mine and it looks so good

Ye, it looks really nice. However I am renting a room where I don't need the best of the best papers and frames.
I just want to put my photos on the wall without frames because it is not the place for fancy stuff.
>>
>>3072881
If it's up to some standard size like A4 or A3, the photo inkjet printers for use in home / small businesses can be a good compromise between investment / running costs / turnaround times. At least if you bothered to investigate how much each of these is going to cost with 1st and 3rd party ink solutions.

The quality is really good on many of them, and you'll figure out pretty rapidly how to deal with the typical partly / fully uncalibrated workflow you tend to use them in.

If you have a very low or really high volume of prints overall outsourcing may be more attractive. Same thing if you need just a few bigger prints, or prints on something else than typical paper.

>Any questions I should ask them before hand like the kind of paper they use or color spaces etc?
Probably no. You don't know enough to meaningfully discuss this shit.

Just order a bunch (or a lot - you decide) of samples from images that you think would be good to judge, and decide whose print job & price & general service you prefer based on them.
>>
>>3075586
Ye, I don't know shit.. I am a video guy and turned into photography by chance.

>>3075582
Not an option to get a printer atm. But yes, I am thinking bigger than A4 but not poster size.
>>
>>3074564
God forbid anyone try to help you out :^)
>>
Costco has pmuch the best price/quality ratio you can get.
Some wedding print dude in your town probably has really good stuff too.

I AM IN THE UK. Sorry but I am telling this for the 3rd time or something.

I am not angry, just pointing out.
>>
>>3076174
Didn't ask for help, so the insistence is literally just for your own self-gratification.

A "No Thank-You" should be enough, but it's not for a Narcissist:

>Send me which wedding invitations you want to order, Anon!
>Oh, $200??? That's too expensive (My Husband is a Millionare), I'll do it myself with my Office Depot Printer!
>Can't figure out how to take a screencap of the invite's BG artwork, despite showing her 15 times over 3 years
>Doesn't want to learn how to Google (She's in her mid 50s)
>Takes a picture of her laptop with the artwork up on a 5.1MP Nikon Coolpix Camera with Flash on
>Uploads the photo of her laptop screen
>Crops to the Artwork
>Makes it Half a page huge in Microsoft Word
>Put's "MR AND MRS ANON'S PARENTS" as the largest Font Size on the entire Invite
>Is upset I asked to make changes before she printed it out and mailed it to my family and friends

And she sticks her fingers in her ears the whole time as soon as she asks "what's wrong with it?". Trust me, this is not someone you want to be a bleeding heart for, because her intentions have nothing to do with helping you but everything to do with feeling "needed" and "appreciated" for 55 years of awful service.

The Canon Selphy Printer is actually not shit, but you're limited to the one size and I'm not sure it's supported much these days.
